![]() ![]() Like the IJN with their 203mm rifles, the Soviets get a lot of good use out of their 152mm guns. The only difference is the aforementioned range, a mere 0.5km improvement over the Chapayev to 17.3km. They have the same rate of fire of 7.5rpm. She has the same guns in the same arrangement (four turrets, 3 guns per turret - two super firing forward, two aft). The Chapayev sees only a minor improvement over the range of the Shchorcs-class cruiser. With her upgraded B-Hull, she has the following: Defensive Fire / Hydroacoustic Search (3.12km / 4.44km).In stock configuration, she has three slots. Radar consumable replaces spotter aircraft.Ĭonsumables: Her consumables change depending on which hull you're using.Improved rudder shift (from 13.5s to 9.7s).Better AA power (from 109dpm to 207dpm).As with most ships, she changes considerably with her B-Hull.Her Fire Control boosts her stock range from 15.8km to 17.3km.Research Tree: The Chapayev has two upgrade modules independent of each other in her tech tree. Horrible handling with an 890m turning circle and slow rudder shift of 9.7s.Torpedoes are painfully short ranged at 4.0km and almost useless at this tier. ![]() Guns can struggle to do damage to high tier capital ships, especially at range.Shooting adds only 4.5km to surface detection range, allowing her to fire from stealth with proper skills and modules.Decent base fire chance of 12% combined with a high rate of fire makes her a good firebug.Good AA compliment which, when specialized can easily overwhelm attack craft waves. ![]() Excellent shell flight characteristics with a flat trajectory and high velocity.Good range - up to 17.3km (and further with a float plane on her stock hull). ![]() There's no increase in DPM or alpha strike. The Chapayev trades speed for increased protection & AA power, boasts improved range and, thanks the extra module slot at her tier, the potential for better concealment values. Upgrading from the Tier 7 Shchors - A further refinement of the light-cruiser line of the Soviet ships, the play style of the Shchors carries over with better soft-stats. Though better armoured than some of her predecessors, she remains fragile and slow turning. Can be upgraded to have a very powerful AA suite.
